Animal Reiki Greetings to you all as we enter 2006. I have many new and exciting things to share with all of you. First, I am very excited to announce the upcoming publication of my book: Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life. It will be in bookstores in mid-March and also available for purchase on Amazon.com.

Second, I have now started a monthly telephone support group called Animal Reiki Talk. Please visit the Animal Reiki Talk quick link at the bottom of this email for more details.

Reiki Reflections
Reiki Training Looking back at 2005 made me realise what an exciting and busy year it was! In April I became a Usui Reiki Master and in June I became a Karuna Reiki Master. Both courses were magical and during the training we all learned so much from working with the Reiki energy, from the wisdom of the Reiki Masters, and also from sharing information and experiences with each other. I also worked with Kathleen via email and on the phone during the year. The knowledge and enthusiasm that she shared with me has proved to be invaluable for both treating and training. Animals as Reiki Healers
Animals are intuitive creatures with a natural ability to heal each other and humans in many ways. Their capacity for unconditional love is boundless and their sharing without bias puts me in awe. Companionship for the lonely, protection and healing are just a few examples of their roles in our lives. I believe that this is because animals are natural "Reiki" facilitators.

Listening to Animals
After being spayed, our first bunny Miko had the hardest week of her life. The surgery went perfectly well, yet it was a deeply traumatizing experience for her. Even though she was strong, powerful and willful, it took the wind out of her and she was knocked out for a whole week. I extensively helped her recover with Energy Work (Reiki & Qigong) as well as homeopatic remedies, yet it broke my heart to see her like this so I was clear that I would never have a bunny spayed again.

Reiki, Initiations and Animals
I have four cats: 16, 15 and 14, and a young one who has been with us since May of last year, who is the scoundrel of course! The three older cats have arthritis and sometimes have a hard time getting off the coach and running around. They always come to me when I sit down, asking me for healing. How do I know they ask? They come at a moment when they intuitively know they will receive what they want.
