Gryffin is a four year old Airedale Terrier that has been having behavioral problems and symptoms that are characteristic of food allergies. I had treated him twice using distance Reiki to see if I could either alleviate his symptoms or discover what exactly he was allergic to. His family was at it's wits end with his running away, destroying things at home as well as having to purchase the very expensive vet-recommended dog food. After the distance Reiki, some improvement was noticed so plans went ahead to schedule home visits where I could treat him in person. Suddenly, the communications from the family stopped and, assuming that they were just busy, I decided to wait, sure that they would contact me when they had a chance.

It was a few days later during a routine meditation that I received that contact, not from the family but from Gryffin himself! He appeared to me as a 'real' Griffin, with the Eagle head and wings and the Lion's body. He came right up to me and asked, "Are you coming over?" I assured him that I would, as soon as his family was ready. Then with a series of images and feelings, he relayed to me that he was worried about a female in his family, he thought she was very ill and wanted me to help by sending Reiki. I wasn't able to find out from Gryffin, who exactly was ill, but I immediately sent out Reiki to whoever needed it as well as to Gryffin's family. The next morning, I emailed Gryffin's family to ask if everything was alright and forwarded the message that he had given me the night before.

The email that I received back was upsetting and astonishing. A sister of Gryffin's person had suddenly taken very ill and was now in Palliative Care at the local hospital with no hope of recovery. The family expressed their gratitude and were thrilled that I was offering her and her young family Reiki, and urged me to continue as she seemed to be in a great deal of pain. I decided to continue to offer Reiki to her and her family until it was no longer needed.

After a few weeks, the sister of his person was, amazingly, taken out of Palliative Care. She was doing so well that her doctors decided to take her out and aggressively treat her cancer! The family were all in a state of happy shock. She seems to be doing great, thank you Reiki and Gryffin!

Gryffin's unselfish request to help a family member has left me in awe. It has reminded me of how connected the animals we share our world with are. We, as humans, are just beginning to be on their level, and perhaps through Reiki we are opening a door to join them in their journey into consciousness. The animals are truly our teachers.
