Dino the Miracle Dobie

By Michele Rodriguez

Dino, a wonderful Dobie, had many ailments throughout his life. He had a heart condition and was riddled with tumors and arthritis. Due to his health conditions he was on medications and could no longer go through any stressful medical procedures.

When I first began to communicate with Dino he would always look as if to say I'm grateful for your healing hands. As I began to treat him he would bring his body close to mine and push my hands were he wanted them to go. After each session he would put his head in my hands as if to say thank you.

Over the next six months he had many trips to the vet's and was in a lot of pain. I would continue to do Reiki in-person and also distance healing for him. He began to sleep a lot, and he was having trouble walking at times. He would fall over and be very frustrated with the way he was. When I would send him distance Reiki he would always have some comfort for awhile. His humans knew that it would make him feel better and what a remarkable gift Reiki had given their precious boy.

In March he started to really start showing signs of slowing down. I had seen him a couple of times in-person and gave him Reiki until I sensed he no longer wanted it. But most of the time I offered distantly. He began to loose his bowels in the house get confused, not knowing how to use the doggie door or go to his favorite place: upstairs to his bed.

I began to start to feel a lot of warmth and tingling in my hands at certain times of the day and not be able to sleep at night. It was Dino communicating with me. I believe he was scared of letting his people down. I was able to see him in-person and continue to distance heal him in four day increments.

He was not ready to pass on and leave his family. In April he was suddenly looking better. He had life back in his eyes he wanted to play and run, but he also would push himself, get weak and fall over. The neighbors couldn't believe he was the same dog. He kept that up for a week. I was telling his people that they needed to give him permission to let go as hard as that might sound. In May he took a turn for the worse. I met him and one of his owners in a beautiful park and when I saw him I knew: he would not be able to fight anymore. He could barely stand. He looked at me and for the first time in my life (I had never seen tears coming down from a dogs eyes) I saw he had tears of relief. He knew he was going to be in a better place. I held him in my arms and said goodbye to him. He feel asleep in my arms. I continued to comfort him. As the owner lifted him into the car I knew that it would be the last time that I would ever see Dino.

The next day Dino passed on and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He had a beautiful and fulfilled life. Dino was diagnosed at 4 months old with a very rare disease but with his people's love and commitment he lived to be 13-1/2. And I'm so glad to have been part of his life.
