I have been a Reiki practitioner for just over a year now, and my focus has been on Reiki for animals. Sometimes doubt would creep in, and I would wonder if I was really helping them. Then I had an experience that removed all my doubt.

My Dog Gizmo became ill (coughing, lethargy), so I took her to the vet. She got a complete physical, including blood work and X-rays. The X-rays showed two spots on her lungs, and the initial diagnosis was lung cancer, but as a precautionary measure the films were sent to a doctor at Michigan State University, an excellent college of veterinary medicine. The results from their doctor confirmed “primary lung cancer.”

Even before the results came back I began doing 15 to 20 minutes of Reiki on Gizmo each day (and also put her on an all-natural immunity booster and Omega 3 fatty acids), and I continued for two months until she went back to the doctor for follow-up X-rays. This second set of films showed that one of the two spots had completely disappeared, and the second was smaller. There was celebrating at our house that day!

I continued with the intensive Reiki, and a month later she went back in for more X-rays. You can imagine our joy when they showed totally clear lungs!

The head doctor at our vet clinic was skeptical, so she took abdominal X-rays, thinking to find cancer there, and guess what – NOTHING on the films!

Today Gizmo is a happy, healthy dog who just celebrated her eighth birthday. She still begs for her Reiki sessions, and I thank God every day for my dog’s life and for the beautiful gift He has given me.
