Release Stress and Cultivate Peace and Wellness with the Help of Animals
“This weekend course was deeply inspiring and informative. Kathleen’s level of compassion, honesty, authenticity, experience and care were both palpable and refreshing. I especially loved the focus on tapping into our own indistinguishable light, and allowing that to be an invitation for the re-emerging of that same light in the other whether it be animal or human. Thank you Kathleen, and I look forward to deepening in my practice and meeting you again for the next level of training when the time is right.”

Shoden and Animal Reiki I will be taught at Lily’s Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary, a volunteer run nonprofit organization based in Petaluma, CA. Founded in 2009, their mission is to provide a safe and loving home for senior large breed dogs who have been displaced from their homes and/or abandoned for any reason, until they are adopted or to remain at the sanctuary until they pass on.
Most Reiki I classes focus on Reiki for people, but Kathleen’s class is unique in its emphasis on Reiki for animals and the people who love them. Both the development of listening skills as well as trust in allowing animals to lead in all aspects of sessions are central to a successful Animal Reiki connection. This is why the main practices of this method are meditation, mindful presence and holding space.
This class will certify you in Reiki 1 and Animal Reiki: The Basics in the Let Animals Lead® method. For more information on the 6 Pillars of the Let Animals Lead® method, CLICK HERE.

Kathleen’s Reiki 1 class was life changing. Not only did I gain a great understanding of what reiki is – I feel like I’m now on a solid path to healing … both myself and animals. She is patient and a great teacher and I found the vulnerability she presented through sharing her personal stories especially inspiring. I was especially impressed with her focus on Let Animals Lead – and gained a new appreciation for the importance of ensuring that animals guide US in their own healing. I can’t recommend Kathleen strongly enough!

I loved Kathleen’s animal reiki 1 workshop last year so much that I took it again this year. I felt like I learned just as much as I did the first time. Her course is filled with life changing practices and wisdom. Kathleen is very down to earth and approachable and I appreciate her vulnerability in her stories about her own experiences. I highly encourage anyone interested in reiki to take her courses.

Kathleen’s Let Animals Lead Reiki 1 workshop at Lily’s Legacy could not have been more meaningful, educational, or just plain fun!
Though I had already read several of Kathleen’s books and had previously taken Reiki I & II with another SARA master teacher, this two-day class definitely widened and deepened my knowledge. My volunteer Reiki work with shelter dogs has been significantly enhanced.
Not only were specific techniques taught, but the experience was also immensely enriched by the community of Reiki energy nurtured in our small group. Kathleen’s openness in sharing her own personal experiences with this practice led to a spirit of trust extending throughout all the attendees. She “walks the walk,” truly embodying the animal Reiki precepts.
This environment was further supported by the calm, healing energy of the sanctuary itself. From our tour with its founder, Alice, to our periodic interactions with dogs living at the facility, it was wonderful to have a constant backdrop of the results of compassion surrounding us as we grew in understanding of the Reiki principles.
I look forward to taking another in-person course with Kathleen in the future—hopefully, more than one!
