Every day, I get emails, photos and videos from students sharing what a big difference the Let Animals Lead® method makes in their Reiki practice. Thanks to my student, Kelly McCarthy, for sharing the below video with us!

About this video, Kelly McCarthy writes, “Every morning I walk my neighborhood block with my dog and three cats. The cats are not on leashes but they just walk together, playing in the yards along the walk, checking things out and staying close to me. This one particular morning we had a turkey vulture walking behind us, who just seemed to stay about 20 feet behind us the entire way. None of the animals were bothered or even curious as to what this creature was or why he was following us. The cats and dog just allowed him to follow. As we all walked down the driveway I looked back to see him still following us. As we went up the back deck to the house and I let my animals in the house I saw him on the back deck where he proceeded to fly up on my railing. I went back outside and asked him if he’d like to share in some reiki and he just sat there looking at me. A voice inside told me to set up my phone to record so I did (and boy am I glad I did) I began my session with my intention to invite him in, taking only what he needed or wanted or nothing at all. ”

During this experience, Kelly wasn’t even aware of what had gone on until watching the video later. It’s amazing to see the many turkey vultures who joined her on the deck, and even in the trees in the background, all of them clearly basking in the sense of well-being of the peaceful, compassionate Reiki space she created.

It’s a great testament to the power of Reiki, an open intention and peaceful mind. When we remember there is nothing to do, nothing to fix, only just to “be” together in mindful presence, we can receive an amazing response from animals of all kinds!

This video reminds us that even though we may seem very different from one another, we share a common energetic language that Animal Reiki can help us learn to speak 🙂 Enjoy watching, and remember, in all your Reiki offerings, may the animals light your way!
